Ljusdal-based Roadroid wins prestigious road industry award
Roadroid has won an International Road Federation 2014 Global Road Achievement Award.
The company won the “Technology, Equipment & Manufacturing” category for their "Smart phone IRI data collection." The awards honor nine projects from around the world, each leading the way in innovation and excellence in its respective area of the road industry. The selection was made by an international panel of senior road development specialists.
Roadroid offers a mobile app for Android smart phones that monitors road condition, and a website with color-marked maps displaying results. The app uses sensors, camera and GPS built-in to smart phones. The app analysis provides precise measurements and large amounts of data, to provide an up-to-date picture of road quality that is unmatched by other methods.
Lars Forslöf, CEO of Roadroid, explains that the prize is an important quality seal of approval for the company. “We have previously won prizes, but they have been related to mobile services and IT. This prize is one of the global road industry’s most important associations.” Lars continues, “the prize is particularly valuable for our new business around the world, and will complement our marketing.”
The 2014 GRAA trophy presentations will take place on November 18, 2014 at the 1st IRF Asia Regional Congress & Exhibition in Bali, Indonesia.
