Gävle to host European conference on Mobility Management / Sustainable Transport

The European Conference on Mobility Management (ECOMM) 2013 will be held in Gävle between 29 May to 31 May 2013. Around 310 participants from countries throughout Europe, and some non-European countries, are expected to take part in the three-day event in Gävle.

Mobility Management is a concept to promote sustainable transport and manage the demand for car use by changing attitudes and behaviors. Gävle was selected to host ECOMM 2013 due to its various initiatives and projects in recent years to promote more sustainable transport in the city and the surrounding region. Gävle has won the European Mobility Week prize in 2009 and has been named in the top ten list of European cities working with sustainable transport in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

The annual ECOMM conference is supervised by the European Platform on Mobility Management (EPOMM), which is an international organization based in Brussels.
